Kobe & Gianna Bryant

Kobe & Gianna Bryant Memorial is a vibrant tribute to the legendary basketball hero and his daughter, designed by artist Ernel Martinez. This mural, created under tight deadlines, was brought to life by a dedicated team led by me, Gabe Tiberino, and Taqiy Muhammad, with invaluable assistance from Malachi Floyd, Michael Mixon, Mtukufu Mtumaini-El, Shaun Durbin, and Efrain Herrera.

Philadelphia holds a special place in the Bryant legacy—Kobe was born here, nurtured by the city’s passion for basketball, and forged lifelong bonds on its courts. His deep connection to the city is celebrated in this mural, which not only honors Kobe and Gianna Bryant but also embodies the spirit of the game they loved.

Dedicated by Vanessa Bryant in partnership with Nancy Lieberman Charities, the mural and accompanying Dream Court provide a lasting legacy for the Philadelphia community. Funded by the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation, the City of Philadelphia, and supported by the City of Philadelphia Department of Parks and Recreation, this project invites youth to compete, learn, and play—ensuring that the inspiration of Kobe and Gianna lives on.
